Built to serve, that others may live..

The call came in mid-afternoon one day in Fall 2011. The request itself wasn’t all that different from many others I’ve responded to during my time volunteering with Search and Rescue (SAR). Help was needed to evacuate an injured subject near Goldmeyer Hot Springs, one of the many destinations in the greater Seattle area that is serviced by King County Search and Rescue. With a large selection of mountain recreation just an hour from downtown, we are one of the biggest and busiest teams in the nation. As I struggled to fit all four team members, their gear, and a back board into my 4-door Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, it became clear that my vehicle was limiting my ability to help. And so, the search began.
